To support our clients we have recently increased our fleet of Noise, Vibration and Dust Monitors from Sigicom and also our Class 1 Sound Level Meters from NTi Audio. The new equipment will be used on our Environmental, Building Acoustics, and Noise, Vibration and Dust (NVD) monitoring works.
The recent equipment purchases will assist both our existing and new clients. We will be responding quickly to any monitoring request to meet the normal short time constraints for these schemes. Some of the equipment has already been deployed across the country for long and short term Noise, Vibration and Dust surveys and Building Acoustic testing. The remaining kit will be allocated elsewhere in the coming weeks.
Construction noise, vibration and dust (NVD) can be a significant issue for active construction sites and is an important consideration for any contractor or developer planning a construction project. This has become even more prevalent since Covid and construction noise/vibration/dust causing annoyance during home working.
We provide reliable advice on how to navigate the tricky business of controlling these emissions and how to comply with any limits imposed by the Local Authority. The assessments follow the guidance of British Standard 5228 Parts 1 and 2 (BS 5228:2009-1, BS 5228:2009-2, British Standard 7385 (BS 7385), British Standard 6472 (BS 6472) and also local Codes of Practice. We always advise on the best approach when it comes to obtaining a Section 61 agreement and have considerable experience in assisting developers, main contractors and demolition contractors in submitting Section 61 agreements to the local authorities.
We have been assisting our clients in this work with Section 61 assessments and Noise, Vibration and Dust monitoring for many years, some recently completed schemes include:
- Section 61 assistance along with noise, vibration and dust monitoring works during the build of a Lidl food store and school in Richmond, London.
- Section 61 assistance along with noise and vibration monitoring works for the excavation and build of a basement in Westminster, London.
- Section 61 assistance along with noise, vibration and dust monitoring works for a new build school in Westminster, London.
- Section 61 assistance along with noise and vibration monitoring works for the transportation infrastructure works adjacent to an Aircraft parts manufacturers in Bristol, this scheme had the lowest limits (micro meters of displacement) we have ever seen.
Whether it’s an assessment to BS 5228, Section 61 agreement or any other aspect of Noise, Acoustic, Vibration and Dust, why not get in contact today to discuss your particular requirements.
