Bradley Court, Cardiff

A new student residential development is located at the 1980’s Bradley Court, Cardiff

Bradley Court, Cardiff

The site sits within a conservation area and could house up to 320 students in the 19-storey building.

We were appointed early in the project by Kier to carry out noise monitoring during the construction phase to ensure that site activities were not audible outside of the permitted working hours. This was a requirement of the planning consent.

The work involved detailed analysis of audio files pre and post works to demonstrate that the site was not working, or if work was taking place was of a low level. This involved carefully set triggers, along with detailed analysis of the data, utilising Sigicom data logger and multiple S50 noise sensors around the site boundary.  The meters issued instant alerts to us and the main stakeholders if noise limits were close to being exceeded.

The scheme continued successfully with no substantiated noise complaints from the site whilst we were monitoring the project.
