Jenners Boulevard, Emersons Green, Bristol
Extra Care Living Scheme
The scheme, named after Edward Jenner, who invented the smallpox vaccine in the 1700s, is being developed by Housing 21 in partnership with South Gloucestershire Council, will provide 50 two bedroom apartments for the over 55’s.
We were appointed by Vistry to provide provide noise and acoustic design advice, guidance on achieving the targeted criteria stipulated in the Architects (Quattro) RIBA3 specification which includes Approved Document E advice, overheating design advice, and to carry out post-construction sound insulation testing.
Our overheating advice included consideration on noise controls with building façade mitigation techniques (Architectural fins), boost fan cooling, comfort cooling and size of window openings. The development is set for completion in 2021 and the first residents are expected to move into their new homes later this year.
Craig Currie, Managing Director of Vistry, said: “We believe passionately that we need to provide homes of all tenures including the development of quality homes for older people. That’s why we’re delighted to be working with our partners Housing 21 and South Gloucestershire Council at Lyde Green, to provide a significant number of these homes, alongside a range of community amenities.”
