Newport Health & Wellbeing Centre

This multi-million pound proposed development will bring a range of health and city council services together. This will include the merging of two existing GP surgeries – Park and Ringland – providing enhanced primary care services (along with some that are currently only available in hospitals) to more than 12,000 patients in the east of Newport.

Kier Construction are the principal contractors and they appointed us to provide the noise and acoustic advice for the development works. This work covered the following areas:

• Design criteria
• Baseline noise survey
• External noise control
• Internal sound insulation
• Plant location
• Outline building acoustic guidance

Ringland was chosen as the site for the super-surgery as it is ideally placed and the existing health centre is long overdue for replacement.

The proposal is to demolish the current building and erect a new health centre building. This will include new consultation rooms, treatment areas and dental areas, along with a new pharmacy, meeting rooms and offices.
